“I thought it would change my life. I thought it would better my life and get me a better job. I’ve worked in manufacturing for 20 years. Through this class, I’ve seen the research side and the management side. It isn’t just the money. It’s working with the product. It’s working with the people. It’s making the best product and making it at the best price with the best people. I’ll give this class two thumbs up.”
-Demetrius Glenn, 2006 Basic Pathway student
"I think that the pathway program helped me discover and develop a potential in me. The classes offered to students have nothing in common with the empoyment service's tests and interview. Like most students, I think that once you get through this program you have some abilities to comprehend and discuss the principle behind the equipment and machines at your workplace. These have a huge impact on the overall work efficiency at the end of the day.
My case was, and is still, an amazing story. I went from looking for a certificate through the pathway program to an Associate in Electronic Engineering Technology. I am now working on my Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
The pathway helped me learn and improve my abilities to meet the needs of a variety of industries in the area. My current position at Heat Treating Technology Lima was derived from a pathway refferal.
I believe that for many companies today, having an associates degree from the pathway program will limit the training period for new employees; because they have the technical training that enable them to quickly grasp the work instruction and be responsible at their work stations."
